Internet privacy DUE Mon., Jan 21, 2008

Many students, whether hearing or deaf, have their own webpages on community websites like MySpace.com or Facebook.com. If the webpages are not "blocked", then anyone who logs online can have access to the webpage and see what the students have posted, like pictures, information about her/himself, comments, etc.

If a teacher, administrator, or any other person from a school saw these webpages, reported them at school, and the student was disciplined at school, what is your opinion of this? Do you feel that any information a student posts online at home and not at school is the right of the student? Do you feel the school should alert the parents of the student? Think about and discuss the right to privacy as well as the dangers of exposing too much information about oneself online.

Hello everyone,

Pretty good weekend. =^D By the way, New England won!! Woooot!

Anyway, I am only person who bring up this issues. =^D

Well, I disagree and agree with this issue. First of all, I disagree with this ways of look our profile and let my school know that I do something wrong with my profile. I am completly disagree with that issue, of course. But, it wasnt their fault to see your profile, because your profile was not set to private. Hm? Whose fault? You? Second of all, I still disagree with it anyway. It was my business, they do not have rights to look at our profile. I have freedom of speak. I could look at their business too. But they is not that stupid people who let their profile set in public. They could get fired. Anyway, my point is, I am completly disagree with that issue, really. It made me feel like I am in prison, and I feel like I am in rat-lab. I dont have any private, they are just keep watch on us. I think they should let us have more freedom, that what suppose us do while school is over. Everyone do that.

But, if that issue was affect to your, their behavior big time. Well, they may look at your profile to check what's going on with them. That is what they can do that, but other ways, they cant do that.

Well, good night for now. =^) See all of you soon.

Comment for AJR, Whoo for u that NE WON, Thank u for tell good idea about myspace.
Well, I feel not comfortable with teacher or everybody enter my private MySpace. I allow my friends to enter my myspace. I mostly sick of my mommy, sister, nephew to be nosey my myspace. I hate that teacher but mostly of u know what i talk about. That teacher tell me that she already enter my myspace. I say Why? and she say I have right to enter student's myspace. She force me to delete young student as 13 and under. that maske me Piss- off because she enter my myapace without i know that she enter. Anyway, I feel like teacher and family nosey in my conversastion and look at my icturter, bio, backgroynd. I mostly undy friends enter myspace for read my bio, etc.. But I not like ADULT enter my private. PERIOD. END OF CASE. I mostly trust with my friends than my family and teacher because friends xan keep secert than family and teacher. I hate to see who is so nosey in myspace as family, teacher or etc.. espically not for my friends. And i am agree with AJR because he say he feel like that he is prison, rat0lab but Ia not even know what he mean on Rat0 Lab.

Good Night, Smiley to Moon and Star. Giggles! Sorry I always talk as Goffy.

Good Dreamy,

Hello,

That is not matter to me. If who teacher or staff nosy my profile or my comments. Because i am always clean nothing drity or insult someone or about my school. I have private profile and everyone won't look my profile. If teacher or staff saw when i talk about bad things or insult something not about our school or our students. Then not their business and should be back off.

I think teacher or staff are safe for young students. Never know who rape and fake profile. Because young kids tend open show their profile, meet strange people and dont know doing right protect themsevle.

I am agree about this. If teach or staff watch mine. then i am not appect about this. Because i am not stupid.

Hey Crazy tiger,

Yes, i agree that under 13 of age not allow use myspace. Because they are too young and strange people can rape them. They are young kids dont know and thought fine friends with strange people. My opinion is i dont want anyone who under 13 of age friends with me in Myspace. Because they are too young and can coyp from my style or my talk way. Thay can steal from my friends when they never met my friends.

I really alot disagree and only few agree. I want myspace.com can be nice as not dirty or bad words or hurt each another person. I must know if who person want know to me. If person not know to me or I not know person. I will not talk to who not know person. That why I want make more relax as not worry. I like use myspace.com because show picture or who person or talk as AIM. But I not use set-up myspace.com because I not know how to set-up. I didn't like school watch my privte web as AIM or picture. I feeling I know alot than young children because I know some that bad. I want if people's age 13 or under that not let becasue they will enought learned for some danger (ex: someone will hurt to you or rape) As Lottery must 18 age or over because that real money for pay or won.

KEEP CAREFULL FOR YOU AND THEM!!!
NOW!

I disagree about teachers have rights to look around kids' myspace. Teachers couldnt do that because we have the freedom of speak. Its our decision to use the myspace. Teacher cant report to school and give punishment for have bad pictures or anything on myspace. its not relating to school. School cant involve anything from out of school area, so cant give kids a punishment. Its parents' job.

I agree with teacher or administrator want to tell parents about that, its fine. Parents could talk with kids, if parents are worrying about kids. Some parents dont know about myspace or different websites, They should let parents to know about what s going on with daughter or son. Of course that parents want their son or daughter to be safe.
